RESPOND-HER Meeting at the UV

In the course of the international CLASDISA workshop held in Vienna some of the members of the RESPOND-HER team met on Friday, August 31st 2012. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the state of the art of the project, to exchange ideas about the ongoing research activities and to plan further tasks.
Professor Gottfried Biewer gave an update on the research outline and chaired a discussion on open questions and necessary adaptations regarding the project layout. Professor Tirussew Teferra presented preliminary findings of the ongoing data collection for the baseline survey regarding the vocational situation of graduates with disabilities in Ethiopia. The research instruments for this survey had been developed during the kick-off workshop in Addis Ababa in November 2011.
Research activities involved several universities around Ethiopia. Data collection at some sites as well as analyses of collected questionnaires and interviews are still ongoing.
Further points of discussion included planned teaching exchanges (November 2012 in Vienna and February 2013 in Addis Ababa) as well as common presentations (WERA focal meeting in Sydney 2012).
The next project meeting wil be held at Addis Ababa University in February 2013.
